TIMP Demo Centre opening

“Our strength is our unity”: This has been the guideline for the great commitment of all TIMP partners for the last two years. The joint effort in the bi-national network for medical product development found its present height with the opening of the TIMP Demonstration Centre in Steinfurt in March 2006.
Jan Oostenbrink, deputy managing director of the Euregio, and Torsten Gruchmann, managing director of Use-Lab GmbH, welcomed the guests to the festive opening celebration. As they pointed out, the Centre is once more dedicated to TIMP’s vision of a Dutch-German network by companies cooperating in order to provide maximum services for their customers. Displaying the partners’ products and services it concentrates their competences at a single location accessible for all members and their clients.

For present and potential members the network’s coordinators Pieter Dillingh and Carsten Schroeder gave an insight into TIMP’s philosophy and its future. Apart from participating in medical technology fairs like the Medica TIMP plans to be active in the 7th FP of the European Union. Furthermore, the network will be opened for further members such as, for example, hospitals.

How a joint TIMP-project may look like was demonstrated by Wilbur de Kruijf of Medspray BV. He talked about the “Dosispray project” which aims at developing an innovative drug delivery device. Future challenges to the medical technology were the topic of a talk by TIMP chairman Wilbert Pontenagel of the University of Twente.

A guided tour of the premises concluded the official opening and convinced the guests of the TIMP members’ efficiency. As always, the get-together und the buffet proved to be the centre to mingle with others and to be creative in terms of new ideas.

All the best for the start!
